Excel Sales & Service, Inc. has been providing packaging solutions for spice companies since 2008. Our patented (US 8,276,777) tamper evident rectangular plastic containers along with the PP closures have been used to package various spices in many different forms varying from fine to coarse. Our tamper evident closure is a perforated strip that is breakably attached to the lids on the base. When the lid of the closure is opened, the strip is torn from the lids, thereby indicating that the item has been tampered with. Currently we offer 2 different kinds of closures: one for the 4oz. tin cans and one for our own PP containers. The closure can be adhered to both plastic and metal containers to provide visible evidence to consumers that tampering has occurred. Our tamper evident plastic closure has a barb hook inlet at each corner to connect with the corresponding hooked edges on the container.
Both of our containers and closures are made with FDA approved BPA free recyclable food grade plastic resin. Our production facility’s food safety management system is certified to the requirement of ISO 22000:2005, ISO/TS 22000-4:2013 and additional FSSC 22000. The quality management system is certified to the requirement of ISO 9001:2008. The air cleanliness of the production area and quality lab are certified to ISO Class 9 per the requirement of ISO 14644-1 & 2.
By packaging spices in a plastic container, companies can easily use a metal detector to determine if any trace element of metal that may have gotten into the spice during the production process. Our products are durable and versatile so they can be adapted to various production lines. Although our products have mainly been used in packaging spices, they can also be an alternative packaging solution to many other food items, health care products, and personal care items as well.

Consumer Safety
Consumer safety is our primary motivation in designing our tamper evident container and closure. It is desirable for us to invent this type of dispensing closure with a tamper indicating and/or tamper evident feature, whereby consumers can readily visually discern whether the flip-top lid of the closure has been previously opened. Our one-piece closure can be easily and conveniently manipulated by consumers and avoid separation of any loose components during initial opening of the closure. Our plastic container has a very significant advantage over a metal can. It will enable companies to use a metal detector to determine if there is any trace of metal inside the plastic container that may have gotten into the spice during the production process. This provides peace of mind for consumers.
In addition, all of our products are made in the USA with the FDA approved BPA free food grade environmentally friendly recyclable materials.
